AGM moved to virtual format for 2020

2020 Virtual AGM – September 24, 2020

With the current restrictions in place and the future of business still uncertain, and the cancellation of the in-person Canadian Beef Industry Conference, the Agency has decided to make changes to our AGM. These changes are our way of meeting our regulatory obligations, being transparent with our stakeholders, and doing our part to keep everyone healthy and safe.

We are developing an event plan to host a professional AGM in which we can conduct all of our necessary business, but keeping in mind that these forums are often a challenge to secure engagement.

That being said, we will be taking a two-pronged approach to engaging delegates, stakeholders and Canadian beef producers well in advance of the meeting, to reduce the amount of time needed on September 24:

CBIC Virtual Conference Update: stakeholders of all levels will have the opportunity to engage with the Agency to learn more about what check-off and import levy dollars are doing for the Canadian beef industry.

Advance Information: stakeholder groups will receive the annual report, service provider reports, and any resolutions and nominee information, at least one month in advance of the meeting for the opportunity to meet with their delegates multiple times if necessary to discuss.

The Agency would like to thank all our stakeholder groups for supporting us in our efforts to conduct business in a safe and respectful manner during these changing times. We are committed to transparency and reporting on the dollars invested by Canadian producers, even if it means doing things a little differently from time to time.
